What is HAZECO and which areas does it supply?
HAZECO (Hazara Electric Supply Company) is PESCO's spin-off serving the hilly Hazara division — Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur — an area with significant hydropower generation and a growing tourism economy.
HAZECO is the Hazara division's own distribution company, covering Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram and Kohistan. It was separated from PESCO to give a hilly, geographically awkward territory management that is not competing for attention with Peshawar's much larger urban operations.
The division is unusual in sitting close to major hydropower generation while still depending on the national grid for its own supply, and its economy leans on tourism through the Kaghan and Galiyat valleys — which produces sharp seasonal swings in demand around the summer months and holidays, concentrated in specific valleys rather than spread across the territory.
Because HAZECO is a recent creation, it does not yet appear in NEPRA's comparative performance tables alongside the older companies.
Which number you need
HAZECO identifies your connection by one number only: the 14-digit reference number printed at the top of the bill. There is no shorter customer or consumer ID that will work in its place — that facility exists at LESCO alone — so the printed reference number is the one to keep.
HAZECO references begin with 17, 18. Those leading digits are the billing batch, and they are what lets this site work out the company from the number alone, with no dropdown to choose from.
HAZECO bills through the shared system operated by PITC, the government's IT company, which is the same platform behind most of the other distribution companies. That shared infrastructure is why one number format and one lookup reach them all.

How was HAZECO formed?
HAZECO was carved out of PESCO's territory in 2016 to give the hilly Hazara division — Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur — its own distribution management, separate from Peshawar's much larger and more urban operations. It reflects a wider move toward splitting large distribution circles into smaller, more locally accountable units.

The form asks for your name, mobile in 923xxxxxxxxx format, CNIC, address and a nearby landmark, plus the nature and type of the complaint. Keep the complaint number it gives you — every later stage of escalation depends on it.
Do not pay scammers. No distribution company asks for payment over the phone, for an OTP, or for money into a personal account. A call demanding immediate payment to avoid disconnection is the most common form of this fraud. Always pay through a bank, ATM or authorised wallet.

HAZECO took over its territory from PESCO, so bills issued before the separation carry PESCO's name.
Where is the HAZECO Reference Number printed?

Does HAZECO generate its own electricity?
