What is TESCO and which areas does it supply?
TESCO (Tribal Electric Supply Company) is the newest DISCO, formed to serve the erstwhile FATA districts that merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an area still building out grid infrastructure.
TESCO serves the merged tribal districts — Khyber, Kurram, Bajaur, and North and South Waziristan among them — and is the newest distribution company in the country. Before it existed, supply in these districts was handled without a dedicated distribution company, and bringing them onto the same regulatory and billing footing as the rest of Pakistan is still an ongoing process.
Much of the territory is mountainous and was, until recently, outside normal administrative reach, so network extension and metering coverage remain works in progress rather than settled infrastructure. TESCO does not yet appear in NEPRA's comparative performance tables alongside the older companies, so published loss and recovery figures for it are not available on the same basis.
Which number you need
TESCO identifies your connection by one number only: the 14-digit reference number printed at the top of the bill. There is no shorter customer or consumer ID that will work in its place — that facility exists at LESCO alone — so the printed reference number is the one to keep.
TESCO references begin with 40, 41. Those leading digits are the billing batch, and they are what lets this site work out the company from the number alone, with no dropdown to choose from.
TESCO bills through the shared system operated by PITC, the government's IT company, which is the same platform behind most of the other distribution companies. That shared infrastructure is why one number format and one lookup reach them all.

How was TESCO formed?
TESCO is the youngest of Pakistan's distribution companies, established in 2019 after the 25th Constitutional Amendment merged the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018. Before it existed, supply in these districts was managed ad hoc with little dedicated distribution infrastructure. TESCO was created specifically to bring the merged districts under the same regulatory and billing framework as the rest of the country.

Complaints for TESCO — and every other PITC company — are filed through one shared system, CCMS. You can find your account by reference number, contact number or CNIC.
The form asks for your name, mobile in 923xxxxxxxxx format, CNIC, address and a nearby landmark, plus the nature and type of the complaint. Keep the complaint number it gives you — every later stage of escalation depends on it.
Do not pay scammers. No distribution company asks for payment over the phone, for an OTP, or for money into a personal account. A call demanding immediate payment to avoid disconnection is the most common form of this fraud. Always pay through a bank, ATM or authorised wallet.

My old bill was under a different company — has my number changed?
TESCO was created relatively recently, so some consumers here still hold bills issued under the previous company. The Reference Number usually carries over unchanged, but if an old number does not work, check with your sub-division office — a small number of accounts are reissued when territory transfers between companies. In TESCO's case many connections in the merged districts are being brought into formal metering for the first time, so a first bill may arrive without any prior billing history at all.
Where is the TESCO Reference Number printed?
Near the top of the paper bill, usually beside your name and address. Enter it in full, with no spaces or dashes. If you no longer have a paper bill, your local TESCO sub-division office can look it up from your address and CNIC.
How do I file a billing complaint against TESCO?

Does TESCO generate its own electricity?
No — TESCO distributes only, over its own network across Peshawar (erstwhile FATA) and the surrounding districts. Generation is bought centrally, and the tariff is NEPRA's rather than TESCO's.
