Who SSGC serves

Sui Southern Gas Company supplies Sindh and Balochistan, including Karachi. It traces to 1954, just two years after the Sui field was discovered, and was reorganised into its present form in 1989. Geographically it sits far closer to the original gas fields than its northern counterpart.

Karachi shapes the network more than anything else: a very large industrial and CNG load, dense older housing, and a humid coastal climate that is hard on buried distribution pipe. SSGC has run periodic pipeline replacement programmes in older parts of the city for that reason.

   It is printed near the top of any previous SSGC bill. SSGC Customer Numbers are 10 digits long. Enter the digits only, with no spaces or dashes.

LNG terminals and supply

The LNG import terminals on the Karachi coast feed re-gasified gas directly into the southern transmission network. That proximity means the south is less exposed to the long-haul transmission constraints that affect the north, though it does not insulate consumers from the cost of imported gas, which is reflected in OGRA's notified rates.
